Bennet is coming to all members by the end of the year. Your groups can see it first.

Hi team,

Bennet, our AI healthcare assistant, is launching to all BCBSNE members by the end of the year. Before then, we're running a 3-week pilot so a small set of employer groups can see it first and help shape it with their feedback. Several groups have already expressed interest, and you'll likely get questions soon.

Here's the short version.

What Bennet does. Employees ask questions in plain language and get answers right away. Today it can look up benefits, find and summarize claims, and estimate the cost of a procedure. Members use it in the Member Portal and the Nebraska Blue mobile app.

Who it's for. Any size group can join. It has the most impact at 500 or more employees. The best fits are employers who want their team to be among the first to use it and are willing to share feedback.

What it asks of the employer. Very little, and there's no cost. We provide ready-to-send messages for their employees. The employer works with you to set a readiness date that fits their calendar.

What we ask of you.

  1. Read the talk track and FAQ in this kit.
  2. Flag interested groups to [pilot inbox or contact] by [date].
  3. Talk with each interested group about their readiness date, then submit a pilot request with that date.

Everything you need is on the AE getting started page: [link].

Questions? Reply here or reach out to [contact].

Thanks,

Two-minute talk track

Use this in a renewal meeting, a check-in call or a hallway conversation. Say it in your own words.

  1. Open with the problemYour employees probably call us or HR with the same questions over and over. What's my deductible? Did that claim go through? What will this MRI cost me?
  2. Introduce BennetBennet is our new AI healthcare assistant. It answers those questions right away, any time of day, in the Member Portal and the Nebraska Blue app. It's coming to all our members by the end of the year.
  3. Say what it does todayEmployees can look up their benefits, check on claims and get a cost estimate for a procedure before they book it.
  4. Explain why go firstBefore the full launch, we're inviting a few employers to try it first. Your team gets early access, and your feedback shapes what everyone else gets.
  5. Make it easyThere's no cost and very little work on your side. The pilot runs three weeks, and we give you the messages to send your employees.
  6. Ask for the next stepWould your team like to be one of the first? Let's find a readiness date that works for you.

Tip: after "Say what it does today," play the demo video. Seeing Bennet answer a real question lands better than describing it.

FAQ

Answers to the questions employers and brokers ask most.

What is Bennet?

An AI healthcare assistant that answers employee questions about their BCBSNE health plan. It covers benefits, claims and procedure cost estimates.

Is it live, or still being built?

It's live. BCBSNE employees have been using it through an early access program, and it launches to all members by the end of the year.

If Bennet is coming to everyone, why a pilot?

The pilot is about who sees it first. Groups in the pilot get early access and a voice in shaping Bennet before the full launch. Every group gets Bennet by the end of the year either way.

How do employees get to it?

Through the Member Portal and the Nebraska Blue mobile app.

What does it cost the employer?

Nothing. There is no cost to take part in the pilot.

How long does the pilot run?

Three weeks. The employer and their AE agree on a readiness date to start.

What does the employer have to do?

Send 3 to 4 short messages to employees using the ones we provide, and share feedback at the end. We handle the setup.

How is member data protected?

Bennet follows the same rules as the rest of our member services. See our Health Privacy policy and our AI Use Disclosure.

What if Bennet gets an answer wrong?

Bennet is clearly identified as an AI healthcare assistant, and members can always reach Customer Service. Our AI Use Disclosure explains how we use AI.

Can employees still call Customer Service?

Yes. Nothing changes about how members reach us today.

What happens when the pilot ends?

We review results with the employer. Their feedback goes into Bennet before it launches to all members by the end of the year. [Confirm: do pilot groups keep access between the end of the pilot and the full launch?]

"Our employees won't use it.""That's what we'll learn together. We'll share usage numbers every week."
"What if it gives bad information?""It's clear that it's an AI healthcare assistant, and members can always reach Customer Service. Our AI Use Disclosure spells out how we use AI."

A couple of questions for you:

Happy to jump on a 15-minute call if that's easier.

  3. What did employees say about it?

Meet Bennet, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska's new AI healthcare assistant

Early access starts today, and our team is one of the first

We're excited to share that [Company] is one of a small group of employers invited to try Bennet before it launches to all Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska members at the end of the year.

For the next three weeks, you can use Bennet to:

  • Get quick answers about your benefits, claims and the cost of care
  • Help shape the experience before the full launch

How to access Bennet

  1. Log in to your Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska Member Portal account or open the Nebraska Blue mobile app.
  2. Look for Bennet's icon in the bottom right of the screen.
Bennet icon[Image: reuse the icon from the Group 8 email]

New to the mobile app? Just ask Bennet and it will walk you through downloading it. Make sure you have the latest version installed.

How to get started

Ask Bennet: "What can you help me with?" and go from there. A few ideas:

  • What's my deductible, and how much have I met so far?
  • Did my claim from last week's doctor visit go through?
  • How much will an MRI cost me?

Bonus: Bennet speaks many languages, so feel free to ask in the one you're most comfortable with.

Your family can try it too

Covered family members are welcome to use Bennet. Bennet can only access information for members you're authorized to represent. If a family member isn't authorized under your account, they can log in to their own Member Portal account to use Bennet.

Your feedback matters

As early users, you'll help decide how Bennet grows before everyone gets it. Share feedback right in your conversations with Bennet, and watch for a short survey on [date].

Good to know

  • Bennet is an AI healthcare assistant. If it can't help, call the Customer Service number on the back of your ID card.
  • Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska reviews conversations to keep improving Bennet. [Confirm: (Company) does not see your conversations with Bennet.]
  • Learn more in the Health Privacy policy and the AI Use Disclosure.

Questions about the pilot? Reach out to [HR contact].

Thank you for being one of the first to try Bennet. We can't wait to hear what you think!
